FAQ

Can anyone be involved in Getting Connected?

Any school or organisation can purchase any of the products that Getting Connected has developed and made available for sale.

Getting Connected has also worked closely with the Health Department and Youth Department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church who provide community group, church workshops and resources that are similar to Getting Connected.  These, however are more community focused rather than school focused. If you are interested in something like Getting Connected for your community group, you are welcome to contact us to discuss available options.

What if my school would like to purchase Getting Connected resources but can’t afford them?

If schools are having trouble raising funds, we invite them to contact us to discuss the matter. As a humanitarian organisation, ADRA Australia has received donations specifically for the purpose of assisting schools in real need.

I would like to talk to someone about implementing some of the Getting Connected products in my school.  Who do I contact?

If you have any questions or would like to arrange a meeting, you can contact ADRA Australia by emailing us or calling  02 9489 5488 .

How do I find out more about resilience and its benefits?

You can look at Resilience Research for any recent studies or articles on the topic of resilience.  We have also included links to other relevant websites that discuss or specialise in resilience information.

Who was involved in creating Getting Connected?

Getting Connected is an initiative of ADRA Australia. ADRA Australia has partnered with Sydney-based psychologist Rose Cantali to author one of the resources within Getting Connected and has employed Jerry Unser to write for and manage the project. Jerry has 20 years experience as a teacher, counsellor, education consultant and a current PhD candidate. Support and consultation has been and is received from psychologist Dr Gary Hopkins, who works in Behavioural Science at Andrews University (USA) and is known for his work and study on resilience.
